1. DIVISIONS
Owners are divided into 2 equal divisions. Each division operates independently.
Owners compete against other owners in their own division. At the mid-point & the end of the year, the owner with the highest point total between the two divisions, will be crowned the mid-point & overall winner of the league respectively.
2. TEAMS
Each owner is allowed to have one team and one team only. A team consists of 4 Nextel Cup drivers, 3 Busch Grand National drivers, and 3 Truck Series drivers. Of these drivers, all but one driver in each series will be active and score points for the team. Inactive drivers do not score points.
Owners determine which drivers are active and which drivers are inactive for each race. An owner can change the status of a driver at any time except when the lineups are locked-in for a race.
The top few drivers (see list below) in points for each series will be dubbed a "Franchise Driver". A Franchise Driver cannot be dropped. For the first 5 races of the year the standings used for the Franchise Driver list will be the final standings from the previous year.
Franchise Drivers:
Cup - Top 10 drivers
Busch - Top 8 drivers
Truck - Top 5 drivers
3. LINEUPS
Before each race, each owner is responsible for submitting a lineup for the race. The owner selects which drivers to make active and which to leave inactive. (Owners must have at least one driver in each series inactive.) Note - The commissioner will not submit lineups for teams in the league. It is the teams’ responsibility to submit their own lineups.
Lineups are due by 12:00 AM CST the day of the race. After this time you will not be allowed to change your lineup in any way. At this time the lineups are locked-in. Note - The commissioner will give you one "get out of jail free" pass...as long as you submit your changes to your lineup prior to the start of the race on the league message board.
Once a driver has been inactive on an owners roster for 3 or more races, they automatically get placed on waivers. (See Waivers)
In the event that a race is post-poned, the commissioner will determine how the lineups for that race will be handled.
4. SEGMENTS
The race schedule for each series will be divided into 4 segments. Each segment will consist of approximately 5 - 10 races.
Within a segment, a driver cannot remain active on a single team for the full course of the segment. This simply means that if the length of the segment is 8 races, you cannot have a driver on your team active for all 8 races.
5. TRADING
Trades between teams will not be permitted in 2012.
6. WAIVERS
Each day all available drivers and drivers that have been inactive on an owners roster for 3 or more consecutive weeks will be placed on waivers. If an owner wishes to add a driver to their team, the owner must put in a request for that driver by 11:59:59 PM CST. At Midnight all requests for the period will be processed. If another owner puts in a request for that same driver and has a lower point total, that owner gets the driver.
Waiver requests will be processed each night at Midnight, Monday through the race deadline (inclusive).
7. KEEPERS
At the end of the season each owner will be allowed to keep two drivers from their team. The two drivers that the owner chooses to keep cannot belong to the same series. And owners cannot keep a driver who is moving to another series.
Ex: Say Kyle Busch is moving to the Nextel Cup series from the Busch series. If an owner had Kyle Busch on their team as a Busch driver, they would not be able to keep him as a Nextel Cup driver. Note - An owner does not have to keep 2 drivers. Owners can keep 0, 1, or 2 drivers.
Owners who keep drivers will remain in the same division they are currently in. If an Owner does not wish to participate in the same division, they can choose not to keep any drivers and apply to the commissioner to change divisions.
Owners are not allowed to keep the same driver two years in a row.
8. THE DRAFT
At the beginning of the draft each driver in each series will be assessed a numeric value according to the previous seasons FRL point standings. The top-5 in the standings will receive a value of 40 with the next 5 positions receiving a value of 35 and so on and so on. No driver will be assessed a value lower than 5. New drivers in a series will be assigned a value by the league commissioner. Note - The commissioner can change the value of any driver.
During the draft, each time an owner makes a pick, that picks points will be added to that owners overall draft point total. The owner with the lowest point total at the end of the round will have the first pick in the next round. And so on, and so on. If two owners have the same point total at the end of the round, the tiebreaker will be whoever had the lowest pick in the previous round. If two owners have the same amount of points in the early rounds (1 or 2...after keepers) the tiebreaker would be the previous seasons point standings. Whoever finished the lowest gets the pick.
If an owner decided to keep 1 or 2 drivers from the previous season, those drivers will be automatically selected for the owner in the first 1 or 2 rounds of the draft. In the event an owner freezes two drivers, the drivers will be automatically selected in the following order: Cup, Busch, Truck.
**Things to keep in mind.
-Point totals carry over, from round to round, throughout the draft.
-Owners select drivers not cars.
-Owners select drivers for a particular series. For example, having a driver in Nextel Cup does not mean you also have them in the Busch Series.
9. POINTS SYSTEM
Active drivers receive points for their team. For each race, points are awarded for qualifying and for position of finish in the race.
Drivers will receive 1-point for qualifying in the top 25. In addition, the driver who places their car on the pole will receive an additional 1-point bonus.
Qualifying points are awarded to the driver who qualifies the car and not who drives the car in the race. Ex: If Todd Bodine qualifies the #5 car for a race and Terry Labonte drives the car in the race, Todd Bodine will recieve the qualifying bonus.
Race points are awarded according to the following scale.
